Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era (2026)

Genre: Animated, Comedy, Drama and Sport

 

Feedback: This is the first Umamusume to watch this year and this is a good movie to start with the end of February. But I still need more expansion on characters to care about and let the pacing the slow down for these scenes. They are rushing from left to right.

I'll also think that the budget isn't as big, but the production value for the animation and sound design is really amazing.

The scenery is really huge. I can see the camera has these bird eye shots to see them. When I can tell by looking at the courtyard and racing scenes that are making them intense and fun.

I can see from the audience that they enjoy sports racing. I would think that this could be for them as well.

Positives:

• Incredible animation

• Amazing sound design

• Pretty musical score

• Best scenery

• Energetic racing scenes

Negatives:

• Weak character development/motivation

• Very few inconsistent pacing
